Tap is a fun rhythmical dance form that helps build the students co ordination, timing and stamina. Learning a mixture of set technical exercises and musical appreciation. Following the graded syllabus for the National Association of Teachers of Dancing (NATD) examinations, students can start learning graded exercises with the opportunity to take exams and progress through the grades from the age of 4. As well as graded examinations students can enter Medal Test, in which the students perform a dance in costume and a series of technical exercises, Medal Tests are optional and can only be enter if the students sits the syllabus exam.
Student’s aged 4-8years can also enter for a Rainbow Award, performing a short tap dance and clapping a rhythm sequence. Rainbow Awards can be taken during any examination event and not just when students sit their Tap graded exams. For more infromation see the Rainbow Awards page.
